Privacy policy for the Limehome Newsletter

(Status: December 2018)
This information gives you an overview of the processing of your personal data when you order the Limehome Newsletter. We will inform you which data we collect from you and how we use it. In addition, we will inform you about your rights under applicable data protection law and inform you who you can contact if you have any questions.

Who is responsible for data processing?

Limehome GmbH is responsible for the processing of your personal data in connection with the dispatch of the Limehome Newsletter. If you have any questions regarding data protection, please contact

Which personal data do we process?

We process your personal data when you order the Limehome Newsletter. In detail this can be the following data:

  • Data that you provide to us when you order the Limehome Newsletter (e-mail address, salutation if applicable, first name, surname, postal code)
  • Data that we need to prove your consent to receive the Limehome Newsletter and to process your data (IP address and time stamp of the newsletter subscription as well as the click on the link in the confirmation e-mail, declarations of consent given)
  • Data we receive when participating in a competition organised by us (details of the competition, answers)
  • Data about your online bookings at Limehome
  • Data that we collect when redeeming vouchers or coupons

We only process the above-mentioned data insofar as they actually occur, for example when booking a Limehome accommodation or participating in one of our lotteries.

For what purposes do we process your data and on what legal basis does this take place?

Direct advertising

We use your e-mail address to send you the Limehome newsletter on Limehome products, services, promotions and satisfaction surveys.

We want to send you advertising that is oriented to your individual interests. For this purpose, we analyse your data and try to select products, services and promotions which fit exactly to you when designing the newsletter. The above-mentioned data help us to recognise typical patterns of purchasing behaviour, to define clearly defined target groups and to tailor the advertising approach to the respective target group. In addition, your data enable us to address you personally with your name. The legal basis for the data processing described is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter a of the Basic Data Protection Ordinance (consent).

Monitoring advertising success

We evaluate the results of our marketing activities to measure the efficiency and relevance of our campaigns. We determine the success of our advertising measures in order to continuously improve our marketing activities in your interest and to plan new measures. The legal basis for the data processing described is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f of the Basic Data Protection Regulation (weighing of interests based on our interest in measuring the success of advertising).

Who has access to your data and for what reason?

Within Limehome, only persons who need your data to perform the tasks assigned to them will have access to your data. Outside Limehome, service providers who support us in fulfilling our tasks may have access to your data. These are, for example, service providers that we have commissioned to operate our servers, send out newsletters or analyse data. Service providers used by us must meet special confidentiality requirements. You will only receive access to your data to the extent and for the period necessary for the performance of the tasks.

Is data processed outside the European Union?

Countries outside the European Union handle the protection of personal data differently from countries within the European Union. For the processing of your data, we also use service providers located in third countries outside the European Union. There is currently no decision by the EU Commission that these third countries generally offer an adequate level of protection. We have therefore taken special measures to ensure that your data is processed in third countries as securely as within the European Union. We conclude the data protection agreement (standard data protection clauses) provided by the Commission of the European Union for the processing of personal data in third countries with service providers in third countries. This provides for appropriate safeguards for the protection of your data by service providers in third countries. You can request a copy of this data protection agreement using the contact details provided above.

What rights do you have?

In addition to the general rights under the Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to withdraw your consent: you can withdraw your consent to receive the Limehome Newsletter and process your data at any time. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent which you have given us before the validity of the basic data protection regulation, i.e. before 25.05.2018. The easiest way to revoke your consent is to click on the unsubscribe link contained in each e-mail. The revocation of your consent does not affect the legality of the processing of your data until revoked.
